About

This app was built by and for electrical technicians working in the Film and TV Industry. It is  a tool intended to work in tandem with a qualified electrician and an RMS Electrical Meter. Electricity is dangerous and can cause injury and death when misshandled. By using the app, you're agreeing to the terms that you are a qualified professional, with an understanding that the app can not account for all real world variables and is meant only to be an estimating tool. Please reach out to your local film board or IATSE Union Hall if you are in need of qualified electricans and generator operators.

PocketGenny Privacy Policy

Oct 2, 2026

PocketGenny does not collect, transmit or sell any personal information. Everything you enter stays on your device.

This policy explains how the PocketGenny mobile app ("PocketGenny", "the app", "we", "us") handles information on Android and iOS. It applies to the app only, not to any other website or service.

Effective date: October 2, 2026

Information we collect

We do not collect any information from you. PocketGenny has no user accounts, no sign-in and no online services.

The app does not collect:

• Names, email addresses, phone numbers or other contact details

• Location data

• Photos, contacts, calendars or files

• Device identifiers or advertising IDs

• Usage analytics or crash reports

The only information the app handles is what you type into it: projects, dates, locations, generators, lights and equipment library entries. That information never leaves your device, unless you share it with other users.

How your data is stored and used

Everything you enter is saved in local storage on your device so the app works fully offline. We have no servers, and we cannot see, access or recover your data.

Your data is used only to show your projects and calculate generator loads inside the app. Your device's own backup features (such as iCloud or Google backup) may include app data, depending on your device settings. Those backups are governed by Apple's or Google's privacy policies.

Device permissions

PocketGenny does not ask for access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos or files. It does not send notifications.

Third-party services and data sharing

We do not share, sell or rent any information, because we do not collect any. The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking tools.

The app is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Those stores may collect information about your download and use under their own privacy policies:

• Apple Privacy Policy

• Google Privacy Policy

Data retention and deletion

Your data stays on your device until you delete it. You can delete individual projects or library items inside the app at any time. Uninstalling PocketGenny removes all of its data from your device.

Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

Children's privacy

PocketGenny is a professional tool for film and video production crews and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
